Dental Crowns are caps that get placed either on top of your original tooth root, or anchored to a dental implant. A severely decayed part of the tooth that can’t be repaired will have to be removed altogether and replaced by a crown. This is usually the treatment plan if there isn’t enough tooth structure to support a filling. If you’re missing a tooth altogether, a dental implant will have to be placed in your jaw to act as an artificial root for your dental crown.
